So…everybody’s just gonna act like antiblackness only affects 5 tribes? That the US government doesn’t use Blackness to strip folks of the right to exist as Natives? And that that hasn’t affected how Native people define themselves and guard against Blackness? We’re just not gonna talk about Virginia at all? Or the experiences of Black Native folks outside of fucking Oklahoma?

Seriously, I’m trying to talk about Arkansas & Florida but I guess those states don’t exist in this conversation. And I’m mad everyone acts like us wanting to know our ancestry & trying to connect to it is this terrible crime, but we’re bogus for saying that anti-black racism is the reason. If it’s not that then what is it? I’m really curious. What is so awful about the possibility that we’re right about our ancestors?
