Photograph by Walter Frentzen, Adolf Hitler’s personal photographer.
Liquidation of Jews in the Minsk ghetto. The event was visited by Heinrich Himmler.
Karl Wolff (to the right of Himmler), explains the story behind this image. Himmler visited the site of mass executions and saw this blond boy. The following dialogue took place:
- Are you a Jew? - Yes. - Both of your parents - are they Jews? - Yes. - Do you have at least one ancestor who was not Jewish? - No. - Then I can not help you.
The blond child and 99 other inmates were then shot in the head.
(Text translated from Russian; source here)

This is so sick to me, perhaps more so than pictures of mass graves and dead bodies. Because it depicts real, live people, talking and having physical contact. What exactly was said, how did the boy react when he realized that he was dealing with monsters? We’ll never know because they put a bullet in his head. The rest is just conjecture and imagination.
People who are “fascinated by” or fetishize Nazis make me so very, very ill.
