Congresswoman Weaver actually posted this picture of herself on Facebook, and added the caption: “Aunt Jemima, you is so sweet.”

In response to criticism, Weaver took down the photo and said: “I’m the least racist of anyone. Some of my greatest friends are black.”

Have you noticed how it seems like the most racist white people are incredibly fond of declaring themselves to be “the least racist”? They never say something sensible like, “As a strong advocate of anti-racism, I regret making the mistake of unknowingly perpetuating a racist stereotype. I apologize and will not make the same mistake again.” That might actually kinda work! But instead, it’s always this “I’m the least racist person ever, there isn’t a racist bone in my body” nonsense.
