A friend of mine asked me recently, was I gonna go see the new Batman movie with him. It’s just I don’t respect the concept of Batman because of what I understand about politics now… I’mma lay it out for you: rich dude owns a corporation. Has state of the art equipment, and he uses this to beat up on street level crime. He doesn’t mess with the industrialists, or the super capitalists, or the Murdochs, or the Trumps. He really just fuck with the person that’s just on the corner. Batman is a conservative’s wet dream. Fuck Batman.

Also he’s turned Gotham into an arena for playing out his own twisted little psychodrama, avenging his parents’ death over and over again, which is why he doesn’t just fucking kill the recurring villains and spare everybody the danger of their continual reappearances.

He’s a big rich man and he doesn’t want to deal with his feelings in any kind of healthy way, so an entire city is vulnerable to terrorist attack on a more or less daily basis for the sake of his sad, creepy power games.

Fuck Batman.

Artist Joel Harris charged himself with the awesome task of envisioning what our favourite superheroes would look like if they were manatees. Here you see “Captain Amanatee”, “Supermanatee”, “Batmanatee”, “Spider-Manatee” and “Green Lantern Manatee”. They might be a bit slow and somewhat drowsy, but their superpowers are still nothing to be trifled with and, we can only hope, also include an invulnerability to boat propellers.

Look at the difference between how they’re portraying a white college student that just killed random people, and how they portrayed a young Black man gunned down for being Black

The white one must just be depressed.

The Black one must have been a thug.

The white one had mental problems, it’s not his fault.

The Black one shouldn’t have been walking in that neighborhood.

The white one was about to get his doctorate.

The Black one was suspended from school so he must have been a gangster.

The white one killed 12 people and injured more and he was just a regular person with mental problems. SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE REACHED OUT TO HIM.

The Black one should have just stood there and let the random white/hispanic guy with a gun hunt him down without doing a thing.

Domestic Avengers Billionaire Playboys → Tony works out Batman’s real identity and decides not to tell Bruce.

The best part about this gif set is that in two separate movies the billionaire playboys have the same fucking private plane.

Given the economic downturn, it was considered fiscally prudent to divest themselves of much of their private fleets and enter into a timeshare arrangement.
