When people bring up the fact that Africans also had slaves pre-slave trade, like that shit excuses the chattel slavery that existed in the Americas.

So because Africans owned slaves, slavery in COLONIZED “countries” don’t count? And we shouldn’t complain about it’s lasting effects?
