An update on the kitties:
The outpouring of support from this community has been overwhelming (in a good way!) and surprising! I’ve received a good deal of links to resources that may be able to help me find homes for these two ladies, but unfortunately, because of their health situations (over 10 years old, non vaxed, un-spayed, etc) no no-kill shelters will accept them.
I’m on day 2 of 3 in my attempts to find them a new home. A friend suggested that I should start a chip-in account because the best-case scenario here is that I just keep them, but unfortunately, because of my employment situation, I cannot afford to. The 2nd best scenario would be if somebody who COULD afford to adopt them, would.
And then of course, there is the worst case scenario…where I run out of options in time and they need to be euthanized (which is also a costly procedure).
I was blown away by the amount of reblogs and likes my original post about them from yesterday got in just one day (let’s just say my Tumblr doesn’t typically get too much traffic, haha!).
So, I am still on the lookout for a home for these kitties. If you cannot re-home them, perhaps you could pitch in a few dollars so that I may get them fixed, vaccinated, and pay my apartment complex the outrageous fees they require in order for me to keep them here, + supplies (food, litter, etc)?
Here is the link to the pitch-in account I have created for this situation. Any amount will help, and if I don’t raise the necessary funds, everyone who contributed will be refunded.
If you cannot adopt or contribute to the fund, can you please reblog this post? Any and help is welcomed and VERY appreciated!!
Thank you all so much! You have really lifted my spirits about the situation in ways that are difficult for me to put into words.
