Having tattoos is the new “black”.
If it’s illegal to discriminate based on skin colour, why is everyone allowed to judge and even deny jobs to those who choose to have tattoos and piercings? I don’t see employers rejecting a girl because she looks like a carrot, has fake tits and ratty extensions, but yet I see people unemployed because they choose to have important things in their lives permanently recorded on their bodies and metal on their face as well as in their ear. How is this fair?
Why are certain types of self-modification seen as “normal” and others seen as freakish and unacceptable?

President Obama plans to announce details Friday for a $1 billion Veterans Job Corps that the White House says will put up to 20,000 veterans to work over the next five years on projects to preserve and restore national parks and other federal, state and local lands.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric K. Shinseki on Thursday described the program as “a bold new effort” to lower the high unemployment rate for post-Sept. 11 military veterans, which stood at 13.1 percent in December. The government estimates that 250,000 post-Sept. 11 veterans are unemployed.

Economists Say Obama Plan Would Prevent Recession
A Bloomberg survey of economists concludes President Obama’s $447 billion jobs plan “would help avoid a return to recession by maintaining growth and pushing down the unemployment rate next year.”
The last thing Republicans want is for Obama to be able to take credit for improving the lives of American voters so close to an election. They would rather see more people losing their jobs and their homes and their dignity than to see Obama win in 2012.
What is good for the country is secondary to destroying Obama’s chances to win in 2012, party over country, always - GOP/Teabagger Mentality
