There are over two millions Irish Travellers and Roma in the United States. 

This upsets me, Weetz, if you are being serious. I have followed you for a while—and now this confuses me.

There have been Roma/Irish Travellers/Sinte/Kaale in the US as long as there has been a US. They were enslaved and indentured. They were sent out of England as a way to “get rid” of them.

Sometimes, they were turned away and not allowed to disembark at NY or other docks—even though this meant certain death.

Some families fled the war here—and the terrible conditions that remain for them in Europe.

There are many kinds of us here—old immigrant families, new immigrant families. People who speak American Kalderash, or the new Cant, or those who don’t speak it at all. There are Roma who don’t identify and Roma who do…
